WVFF Continues “Hold the Line” Tour with Visit to Rea of Hope in Charleston

WEST VIRGINIA (June 22, 2026) – Following its second quarterly Board Meeting of 2026, the West Virginia First Foundation (WVFF) Board of Directors continued its Hold the Line Tour with a visit to Rea of Hope, an Initial Opportunity Grant (IOG) awardee located in Charleston, WV.

Rea of Hope received $23,103.99 through WVFF’s Initial Opportunity Grant program to support certified personnel who help provide recovery housing and wraparound services for women working to overcome substance use disorder. The funding supports key staff positions that help women access stable housing, recovery support, case management, and other services that strengthen long-term recovery outcomes.

During the visit, WVFF Board Members and staff met with Rea of Hope leadership, toured the facility, and learned more about the organization’s recovery housing model, which provides women with a safe, supportive environment as they work toward long-term recovery, employment, family reunification, and greater stability.

“Recovery housing provides more than a place to stay. It provides support, stability, and a pathway forward,” said Jonathan Board, Executive Director of WVFF. “The team at Rea of Hope is holding the line every day in the fight against substance use disorder by helping women rebuild their lives, strengthen their recovery, and find hope for the future. Organizations like this are making a real difference in communities across West Virginia.”

The visit was part of WVFF’s Hold the Line Tour, a statewide initiative that pairs Board meetings and site visits with opportunities to see opioid settlement investments at work across the Foundation’s priority areas.
