Initial Opportunity Grant (IOG)

The Initial Opportunity Grant (IOG) was designed to rapidly deploy opioid settlement funds to communities across West Virginia in support of prevention, treatment, and recovery efforts.

Launched less than one year after WVFF’s formation, the IOG became the fastest grant program of its kind in the nation—distributing funds into communities at a pace more than four times the national average.

Through the IOG, nearly $17 million was awarded to 94 projects across all six regions of West Virginia.
