Award Summary:
Funds are being used to launch a comprehensive youth prevention initiative that integrates evidence-based substance use prevention into recreation, mentorship, and family support services. This investment expands structured sports leagues and after-school programming that combine physical activity, skill-building, and prevention education to strengthen resilience and healthy decision-making. Resources also support weekly Teen Hangout Nights that provide safe, supervised spaces for positive peer connection, along with parent support groups focused on communication, coping strategies, and risk awareness. By pairing prevention programming with concrete family supports, including continued access to a food pantry, the initiative addresses both protective factors and underlying stressors, fostering youth wellness, family stability, and a more resilient community.
