Award Summary:
Funds are being used by Youth Services System, Inc. to expand its Transitional/Recovery Housing program in Wheeling by increasing capacity in Region 1, where recovery resources are limited. The project includes purchasing two lots and installing modular homes to replace aging facilities, preventing the loss of six beds and adding five more for a 25% capacity increase. Through a structured, three-phase recovery process that incorporates outpatient treatment, peer support, job training, and community reintegration, YSS—working with partners like Northwood Health System, HUD, and Jobs & Hope WV—strengthens recovery housing for justice-involved individuals, veterans, and those with co-occurring mental health conditions.
