Funds are being used to sustain and expand WVU Medicine East’s Addiction Services across Region 2, strengthening outreach, treatment access, and care coordination for individuals with substance use disorder. This investment supports personnel for a full-time SUD Case Manager and part-time licensed social workers serving on the Community Outreach for Resources and Education Team. Resources enable medication-assisted treatment initiation, harm reduction services, peer support, and connections to care across hospital and community settings. The initiative also funds outreach supplies that support safe engagement and overdose prevention. By integrating case management, hospital-based services, and community outreach, the project expands access to treatment, reduces overdose risk, and strengthens the continuum of care across the Eastern Panhandle.
