Award Summary:
Funds are being used to expand Western Regional CASA’s Follow Up to Permanency aftercare program, strengthening family stability and recovery supports following the closure of Child Protective Services court cases related to abuse or neglect. This investment provides intensive, in-home support to permanent families for up to one year after case dismissal, including reunification, adoption, and guardianship placements. Resources support the addition of a part-time certified Peer Recovery Support Specialist to assist caregivers in recovery from substance use disorder and help families process trauma associated with CPS involvement. Funding also reduces barriers to safe reunification by covering urgent household needs and supports quarterly trauma-informed parenting workshops across Roane, Calhoun, and Jackson Counties, promoting healthy, stable environments where children can heal and thrive.
