Award Summary:
Funds are being used to expand access to behavioral health care while building a regional workforce pipeline through a partnership with West Virginia University Institute of Technology. This investment supports the launch of a licensed behavioral health center providing individual and group therapy, recovery support, and intensive outpatient services, while also serving as a training site for emerging professionals. Resources fund structured internships and apprenticeships for students in behavioral health–related fields, along with community training and certification in mental health, suicide prevention, substance use prevention, and peer recovery support. By integrating clinical services, workforce development, and community education, the initiative strengthens the recovery ecosystem, builds sustainable capacity, and expands access to culturally responsive care across Southern West Virginia.
