Award Summary:
Funds are being used to expand Pollen8’s recovery housing and workforce development model in Kanawha County through the acquisition of a multi-purpose property with peer-supported recovery apartments. This investment increases bed capacity and provides up to 12 months of stabilization support for individuals transitioning from treatment to independent living. Resources fund recovery housing staffed by peer specialists who coordinate health care, transportation, education, and employment placement. The initiative also supports the development of commercial space and a commissary kitchen to create workforce training opportunities and generate sustainable revenue that supports long-term housing operations. By integrating housing, employment, and wraparound supports, the project reduces relapse risk, prevents homelessness, and strengthens the local recovery workforce.
