Award Summary:
Funds are being used to implement Project HOPE (Healthy Opportunities through Prevention Education), a school-based prevention and mental health initiative serving students across Morgan County. This investment expands evidence-based prevention education and trauma-informed supports within K to 12 school settings, ensuring equitable access to early identification, intervention, and resilience-building services for youth impacted by adverse childhood experiences and familial substance use. Resources support a continuum of care that includes screening, brief intervention, referral to treatment, and therapeutic services, alongside classroom-based prevention and family navigation supports. Delivered through collaboration with Morgan County Schools and local health partners, the initiative strengthens school climate, reduces behavioral risks, and promotes healthier developmental outcomes for approximately 2,300 students while advancing a sustainable, community-driven prevention model.
