Award Summary:
Funds are being used to sustain and strengthen Mission WV’s Bridge Program, a school-based prevention and mentoring initiative serving high school students in foster and kinship care. This investment supports the placement of full-time mentors within partner schools to provide consistent, individualized guidance that promotes academic success, graduation, and post-secondary planning during a critical developmental stage. By addressing academic and social barriers through close collaboration with school staff, the program helps youth remain connected to education, build resilience, and prepare for the transition to adulthood. Serving approximately 500 students each year, the Bridge Program demonstrates measurable improvements in attendance, academic performance, graduation rates, and future planning for one of West Virginia’s most vulnerable youth populations.
