ChildLaw Services, Inc.
Project Name:
Preventative Legal Support through EAGLES Program for WV Youth – Mercer and McDowell
Award Received:
$125,000.00
Award Summary:
Funds are being used to expand child-centered legal services for at-risk children and families in Mercer and McDowell Counties. This investment supports early intervention and holistic legal advocacy designed to resolve legal issues before child welfare petitions are filed, reducing the likelihood of removal and additional trauma. Resources fund dedicated legal and victim advocacy staff to provide educational advocacy, custody and guardianship support, conflict mitigation, supportive counseling, and connections to community resources. In addition, the initiative increases legal representation once cases begin, addressing critical service gaps in high-need counties and ensuring children are protected at every stage of child welfare involvement.
