Award Summary:
Funds are being used to strengthen child advocacy and healing services for children impacted by abuse and neglect in the Eastern Panhandle. This investment supports a coordinated, trauma-informed response through multidisciplinary investigative teams that reduce re-traumatization while ensuring accountability and child safety. Resources sustain access to trauma-focused cognitive behavioral therapy provided at no cost to children and families, an essential component of recovery. By serving children ages 3 to 17 across Hampshire, Hardy, and Mineral Counties, with extended access in neighboring counties, the initiative reinforces a safe, child-centered environment where healing can begin and justice can be pursued.
