Award Summary:
Funds are being used to deliver the Drug Endangered Children Project, strengthening trauma-informed prevention and family-centered services for children impacted by parental substance use. This investment supports child advocacy center services, including forensic interviews, family advocacy, and therapy, which help mitigate the effects of adverse childhood experiences and reduce long-term risk of substance misuse. Resources also expand implementation of the Substance Abuse Impacted Families model, providing trauma-informed behavioral health treatment for children while offering coordinated supports, family therapy, and recovery services for parents and extended family members. By using validated assessments to guide care and track progress, the initiative promotes healthy family functioning, supports reunification, reduces relapse risk, and prevents opioid misuse across adolescence and into adulthood.
