Award Summary:
Funds are being used by the Mid-Ohio Valley Health Department to expand part-time Quick Response Teams into a full-time intervention program across six rural counties. The project hires Peer Recovery Support Specialists and a Nurse Practitioner to provide immediate, on-the-ground care, including transportation, treatment access, and mental and physical health support. By funding outpatient treatment, implementing exercise programs, and launching community-wide naloxone distribution and stigma reduction campaigns, the initiative builds a comprehensive “bridge to recovery” focused on prevention, response, treatment, and long-term recovery.
