Greater Wheeling Coalition for the Homeless, Inc.
Project Name:
The Recovery First Reentry Initiative Program
Award Received:
$250,000.00
Award Summary:
Funds are being used to implement the Recovery First Reentry Initiative, a recovery-focused case management program serving individuals with opioid use disorder who are exiting incarceration or participating in court-ordered treatment across Region 1. This investment supports intensive, housing-centered case management, employment readiness, life skills development, and access to peer recovery, shelter, and housing programs. Resources help participants secure stable housing, gain employment or complete job training, and build financial literacy and long-term recovery capital. By addressing the core barriers to successful reentry, the initiative reduces recidivism, strengthens recovery outcomes, and fills a critical gap in the regional reentry support system.
