Award Summary:
Funds are being used to sustain the Outreach Liaison Initiative, providing embedded mental health crisis intervention and treatment connection services within the Clarksburg Police Department. This investment supports a full-time Outreach Liaison who responds alongside law enforcement to individuals experiencing addiction-related crises, offering immediate harm-reduction support and warm handoffs to treatment and community resources. Resources also leverage partnerships with peer recovery coaches to expand engagement and follow-up services. By strengthening coordination with treatment providers and social service agencies, the initiative reduces recidivism, improves health outcomes, and enhances community safety through consistent, relationship-based crisis response.
