Project Name:
Bridging the Gaps Initiative
Award Received:
$90,250.00
Award Summary:
Funds are being used to implement the Bridging the Gaps Initiative, a coordinated, countywide effort to reduce youth substance use and strengthen family wellness in Fayette County. This investment supports four interconnected, evidence-based strategies that promote prevention, early intervention, and recovery support across multiple settings. Resources fund vaping prevention education for elementary students, suicide prevention programming for middle and high school youth, guided peer support for parents involved in Family Treatment Court, and school-based nicotine cessation supports for high school students. Delivered through strong partnerships with local schools and prevention organizations, the initiative addresses root causes of substance use, expands equitable access to services, and builds a sustainable system that fosters resilience, mental wellness, and healthier futures for youth and families.
