Award Summary:

Funds are being used by the West Virginia School of Osteopathic Medicine to launch the “Recovery Works – Facilitating Sustainable Recovery through Workforce” project in Region 6. The initiative establishes a Community Restitution Apprenticeship-Focused Training program for justice-involved adults with substance use disorders in the Greenbrier County Treatment Court system, addressing workforce and transportation disparities. Running as a randomized control trial in 2025, the project partners with WV Jobs and Hope, Mountain Transit Authority, and the Greenbrier Treatment Court to measure outcomes in recovery capital, social capital, and probation compliance.
