Direct Funding Model Requests
West Virginia First Foundation (WVFF) accepts funding requests outside of traditional grant cycles through our Direct Funding Model (DFM). Each application under this model is referred to as an Opportunity Consideration.
Prior to submitting an Opportunity Consideration, organizations must first submit a Funding Inquiry Form.
The Funding Inquiry Form is intended to initiate contact and provide information about the proposed project and is not a formal application. Submission of a Funding Inquiry Form does not guarantee funding consideration or approval.
Following receipt of the Funding Inquiry Form, WVFF staff will meet with applicants to review the process and align on expectations. Upon completion of this meeting, staff will share the link to submit an Opportunity Consideration.
To be considered, the request must: (1) demonstrate an impact in at least four distinct regions, (2) have an additional revenue source, such as Qualified Settlement Funds (QSF) from counties or cities and/or other sources external to the WVFF funding request, and (3) comply with WVFF’s due diligence and documentation requirements. WVFF may not support or fund any project unless it aligns with the requirements as outlined in the West Virginia First Memorandum of Understanding.
Please note: An organization can only submit an Opportunity Consideration once per calendar year.
